Is there any chance you would be blocking IP ranges? I think my ISP is blocking outbound connections on ports it doesn’t recognize.

Like when I try to nc challenge04.root-me.org 61045 from home it doesn’t work, but from other connections it does. This happens consistently on across all home machines (everything from win8 box to raspi running manjaro, all with firewall disabled/iptables rules to specifically allow connections. I have disabled the router firewall (even though it is configured to not block any outgoing connections) I have tried putting machines in DMZ and even tried giving plugging a box directly into the modem(running as root like a real man, haha) This also happens while trying to ssh on ports that aren’t 22, namely 2222 and 2223. 2224 seems to work (?)

Anyway, I have had a hard time getting on the phone with anyone who actually knows how a computer works from the ISP. They have me ping google and then open up a browser and then tell me my internet is fine.

Are they legally allowed to do this? Does anyone have any experience with this or how to get this issue elevated?
