Alright, so I feel like I’m missing something here. Obviously the 7 passwords are not going to be correct so I’m left staring at the enable 5 password which is what I assume I’m supposed to crack.

So I’m sitting here bruteforcing the hash when I notice that the caption at the top reads "It’s not always a hash". Well, that blew my mind. I don’t see any other options. Any advice?

Hello Bazill,

Bruteforce is not necessary, and is rarely the solution to challenges you can find on root-me.
I’d advice you to ban the word "obviously" from your vocabulary because it obvioulsy hold you back! :D haha

Most vulnerabilities are caused by human’s mistakes ;)

Good luck !

Hello there, I’m not the best in cisco configuration.

I was tried common passwords, tried the usename as a password, tried the password 7, etc.

Any idea?

Thanks

Hello there ,

Maybe you should try out if there is any possible relation between password 7 and password 5.

Agreed with user "Lazy", human mistake is always the weakest link, hardcore technical skill is less important in this challenge.
LOL at the end

This thread is a bit too spoily, I found right away after reading it.

I get the ’Enable’ thing, but I have wero idea of how to go about it since the only thing provided is a text file. What use is the admin password when everything is in text?
