App - System/Script - Challenges are being renamed!
Root-me evolves continuously. To maintain a consistency between current binary challenges and future ones, we had to change the names, paths on the server, logins and passwords.
The challenges’ names begin now with their category: "app-systeme" or "app-script".
All the challenges previously named "binaryX", "rbinaryX" or "hbinaryX" become "app-systeme-chX".
"shellX" becomes "app-script-chX".
If you want the correspondence:
- binaryX → app-systeme-chX
- hbinaryX → app-systeme-ch2X
- rbinaryX → app-systeme-ch3X
- shellX → app-script-chX
This organization is valid only on actual challenges.
Information about the difficulty, protections, ... are shown on the challenge page and at the ssh connection.
Some binary challenges about new techniques or technologies not presently on Root-Me are in discussion and will be included with this new name system. (64bits, difficulty++, kernel?).
A little bonus for those who are connected on IRC: the BotInfo can give you the conversion for the name of a challenge:
